Year’s End

Hi everyone,

Looking back over the events of this year, I’m simply amazed at the opportunities and accomplishments that I’ve had.

In early Spring, I exhibited a series of paintings with Patrick Harness at Clark-Lyndsey, was featured in the News-Gazette’s “Studio Visit”, and created a series of giclée reproductions. This summer I had a solo exhibition at the Shared Space Coop, won 1st Place, Best of Show at the Champaign Downtown Festival of The Arts, was awarded with several commissions, and sold giclées and original paintings. This fall, I had a one month exhibition at Cafe Paradiso, and hosted the second annual local art show, Array.

Wow… Thanks to you all for coming along with me and making me feel like all this was possible. Very much appreciated!

Now, to close out the year… An exhibit featuring some of my new original paintings and drawings. Joining me are artists Patrick Harness, Lindsey Snell and Next Generation.

Closing out the exhibit Tuesday, December 13th at 6:30 p.m. is a special evening of music from Elizabeth Buckley’s début album, “Must the Winter Come So Soon?” Accompanist and Furman University faculty member, Dewitt Tipton, and Grammy award winning violist, Masumi Per Rostad, of the Pacifica Quartet will be performing selections from the album with Elizabeth.

Ticket price is $20 and includes a signed copy of the CD, food and wine from Art Mart, and flowers from Fleurish. A CD signing and dedication to the life of sound engineer Jon Schoenoff will cap off this meaningful evening.

Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!

Success!

Champaign Downtown Festival of the Arts 2011 was a huge success! I won 1st Place, “Best of Show” with a purchase award, sold work, received commissions, found an interested gallery, and was interviewed for WCIA’s CILiving.tv. scheduled for early September. I’ll let you know when you can catch it. Thanks everyone so much for making that event so special! I’m staying very busy, and loving it.

My recent gouache paintings and some charcoal drawings will be hanging at Caffe Paradiso in Urbana for the month of September.

I’m participating in this years CDTFOTA and will be exhibiting all of my new Gouache paintings and Giclée reproductions. The last year’s festival introduced some of my first paintings in this medium. I quickly committed, and it has paid off. I am proud of the work I’ve done in the last year, and hope you will enjoy it too. Come by and say hi. I’ll be at booth number 27, directly across from the Blind Pig Brewery and Aroma Cafe.
